THINKING ABOUT

BAPTISM?

Understanding Baptism at Legacy Church

What is Baptism?

Baptism is a significant step in your faith journey, symbolizing purification and rebirth. It represents your public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ and commitment to follow Him. Historically, baptism has roots in early Christianity, where it was seen as a rite of initiation into the faith community.

Why Get Baptized?

Baptism is not just a ritual; it's a powerful testimony of a life changed by Christ. It's an act of obedience to Jesus, who was baptized Himself and commanded His followers to do the same. It's a symbol of dying to our old selves and being raised to a new life in Christ (Romans 6:3-4).

Who Should Get Baptized?

Baptism is for anyone who believes in Jesus Christ and wishes to follow Him. It's a personal decision, but also a communal celebration. Whether you're a new believer or have been following Jesus for a while and never got baptized, this is your opportunity to make a public declaration of your faith.

How Do We Baptize?

At Legacy Church, we practice full-immersion baptism, representing the complete washing away of the old life and emerging anew in Christ. The baptism is conducted in a safe and respectful environment, usually during our regular church services, where your church family can witness and celebrate your commitment.
