Legacy Update! June 5
Off to another weekend with plenty happening. Please join us for the online worship services at either 9:00 or 10:30 a.m. This week we wrap-up our most recent series called “Locked Up.” What a timely series with all that’s been going on around us! Hope you can make it! Be sure to get the sermon notes in advance and a Connect Card from the home page on our website (legacysd.org).
La Mesa. It has been good seeing how local communities in San Diego have come together after the events of last weekend. Today I drove through both Tierrasanta and a portion of La Mesa where peaceful protest continues. A much better picture than last weekend! So many good stories among the much sadder stories of injured lives and lost businesses. Let’s pray that a better community emerges with galvanized steps toward greater justice and common unity. Tomorrow afternoon (Saturday) a group called “La Mesa Strong” has invited the community to gather at 4:30 p.m. for a silent Candlelight Vigil in downtown La Mesa in front of the restaurant, Por Favor (8302 La Mesa Blvd,). Lisa and I intend to join that gathering, and if you’re so inclined, please feel free to join with us. I don’t think there’s an agenda other than PEACE in the community. I know our personal vigil will be to pray to our Heavenly Father and Living Lord for the peace Jesus came to provide. We’ll plan to meet at our La Mesa Springs property at 4:10 p.m. and walk (5 blocks) to the vigil.
Tierrasanta. And this includes La Mesa!! All-Church! Be sure to join us this Sunday evening at 5 p.m. on the upper lot at the Legacy Tierrasanta campus for a Drive-In Communion experience. We’ve staged this event as a safe way to gather as a church. No need to exit your car. We’ll care for every detail, including instructions, pre-packaged communion elements, and the radio frequency (FM 107.5) you’ll need to dial in the actual service. Total service time is less than 30 mins. Address: 10881 Tierrasanta Blvd. SD 92124 - Upper Lot
One last thing . . . More Worship Options starting Sunday, June 14. We actually have 3 good options. #1 – if you prefer not to gather yet, please join us at the Online Worship Service just as you’ve been doing for past several weeks at either 9:00 or 10:30; #2 – join us at either 9:00 or 10:30 a.m. at the Tierrasanta campus auditorium for a Live Worship Service. You will need to wear a mask. Maximum capacity in the auditorium is 55. More details will be available this coming week so that you can be confident we’ve taken your safety seriously; #3 – Live Outdoor Worship Service on the patio area. You might be drawn to gather with others for live worship, but not comfortable coming into the auditorium. No problem. We’ll bring the sound to you on the patio. That way you can hear the message and see some of your friends. Same time and location. Hope you can join us for any or all of what’s ahead. Thanks for your patience. Thanks for your flexibility. Thanks for your generosity in giving, too. This element alone has helped keep us strong during the COVID-19 crisis. Have a great weekend! Pastor Curt
