Mission Statement
& Essential Core Values

At the very core of Legacy is a church in which God is at work.  Whatever we’re able to accomplish in this community or in this world is attributed to a God who infinitely loves people, who works in their hearts, and by His Spirit changes the course and eternal trajectory of their lives.  We affirm that YOU matter to God!

Missional Goal

To be a church fully engaged in spiritual reproduction
by encouraging people to make the choices necessary to embrace their eternity in Jesus Christ, to identify their unique contributions in this world,
and to leave a lasting legacy for future generations.

Theme Verse
Deuteronomy 30: 19-20

This day I call the heavens and the earth
as witnesses against you that I have set before
you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to His voice, and hold fast to Him.  For the Lord is your life, and He will give you many years in the land He swore to give your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Key Values

What are some of the key values of Legacy Church?

There are several.  First, we are inter-generational.  We’re very intentional about that.  We want a place where all ages and generations can exist and benefit from one another.  We want the wealth of wisdom and the energy of youth sitting in the same auditorium.

Second, we are committed to unity over style.  We don’t want to divide people purely by musical preferences and personal styles.  Legacy Church is contemporary, but not particularly loud.  And we like doing some hymns!  Worship is really about the Lord God as our audience and not fundamentally about the idioms we (sometimes) attach to it.

Third, we are committed to full-on grace – that means accepting people where they are and not where they ought to be in their spiritual journeys.  There might be some risk in that position, but then we don’t have the capacity to change a person any way.  Only God’s Spirit can do that.  So our job is to love people like Jesus did.  God’s job is to change people.

Fourth, we are Bible-centered in our approach to life.  We think the Bible speaks both clearly and sensibly when it comes to our lives.  God’s Word is relevant and when we follow the teachings of the Bible it can both protect and guide us into a better life.

And fifth, Legacy Church is evangelical in its approach to people.  Knowing Jesus Christ can and will change a person’s life.  So we’re all faced with a basic decision.  At some point in the journey we have to decide whether to follow Jesus and allow the Him to take leadership in our lives, or avoid Him and take our chances.
